Dad, did dinosaurs really exist?
Sure they did, son. The Bible says so. They didn't call them "dinosaurs" back then, but instead they were known as "leviathans" or "behemoths".
But, my science teacher says dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. Is that true?

Mexican Retablos. Retablos, referred to as "laminas" in Mexico, are small oil paintings on tin, zinc, wood or copper which venerate a multiplicity of Catholic saints. The literal translation for "retablo" is "behind the altar." This genre of folk art, deeply rooted in Spanish history, represents the heart and soul of traditional religious beliefs in 17th, 18th, and 19th century Mexican culture

No time to pray?

Shatner_star_trek Rabbi Yonassan Gershom’s source for Jewish themes in Star Trek

You have found the true Mormon church, a small group of primitive Latter Day Saints that has been in continuous existence since 1830, but remained in the Midwest when Joseph Smith was martyred in 1844. We support the Prophet Joseph’s written revelation appointing a successor named James Strang on June 18, 1844, just nine days before the Prophet Joseph was killed. The Prophet James was ordained to that sole office by angels the same hour that Joseph was killed, and with witnesses later found brass records buried in a Wisconsin hill

"... I've been praying to Joe for about a year now. And I noticed something. I noticed that all the prayers I used to offer to God, and all the prayers I now offer to Joe Pesci, are being answered at about the same 50% rate. Half the time I get what I want, half the time I don't. Same as God, 50-50. Same as the four-leaf clover and the horseshoe, the wishing well and the rabbit's foot, same as the Mojo Man, same as the Voodoo Lady who tells you your fortune by squeezing the goat's testicles, it's all the same: 50-50. So just pick your superstition, sit back, make a wish, and enjoy yourself..."

Tibetan_monks Re-post: Sand mandalas on flickr, and on pbase

Construction of the Medicine Buddha sand mandala at the Ackland Art Museum. On February 26, 2001, the Ven. Tenzin Thutop and the Ven. Tenzin Deshek, two Buddhist monks from the Namgyal Monastery in Ithaca, New York constructed a five-and-a-half foot Medicine Buddha sand mandala in the Ackland's Yager Gallery of Asian Art. This process concluded by March 21, and on June 8, 2001 the monks dismantled the mandala and deposited the sand in a body of water. This process symbolizes the transience of life and the ideal of nonattachment to the material world
