Every Day
Since February 23rd, 1987, Karl Baden had, on a daily basis, made a photograph of his face. Reserved exclusively for this procedure are a single camera, tripod, strobe and white backdrop. A small, additional tripod and backdrop make the setup portable; it goes with him when he travels.
“I use the same type of high-resolution film (Kodak Technical Pan until it was discontinued in 2007, Ilford Pan F since then) and the same strobe lighting. The camera is always set and focused at the same distance. When taking the picture, I try to center myself in the frame, maintain a neutral expression and look straight into the lens…”
Daily Self-Portraits. (Thank you, Karl)

No invention of the Industrial Revolution influenced Impressionism more than the camera. Most of the Impressionists had cameras and experimented with their new images. Photography inspired impressionists to capture the moment, but did you know that some of the most famous paintings of Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec or Gauguin were inspired on an original photograph? Here you have some interesting examples

Jay Carlson tied a disposable camera to a bench with a sign that read:
Good afternoon,
I attached this camera to the bench so you could take pictures. Seriously. So have fun. I'll be back later this evening to pick it up.

When he retrieved the camera that night, he was happy to find that the entire roll of film had been shot. Below are the Stranger Photos that were taken

Alphabet faces
The mystery of these Found faces. I got this lot of slides about three years ago and I've never been able to figure out just what is going on. There are about 50 slides in all- all dating from between 1959 and 1969 and all of young women. Some, like the ones here have letters written on their foreheads, others have press type with their names on it affixed to either their temples or foreheads

First person in a photograph
In 1838, a man made history by having his boots polished. He was the only thing standing still when Louis Daguerre took a photograph of a busy Parisian street. Because the film was exposed for 10 minutes, the rest of the traffic blurred into nothing — and the anonymous man became the first person ever to appear in a photograph
