Wingsuit flying is the art of flying the human body through the air using a special jumpsuit, called a wingsuit, that shapes the human body into an airfoil which can create lift. The wingsuit creates the airfoil shape with fabric sewn between the legs and under the arms. It is also called a birdman suit. A wingsuit can be flown from any point that provides sufficient altitude to glide through the air, such as skydiving aircraft or BASE jumping exit points

The World Pie Eating Championship - not previously known for its adherence to the principles of healthy eating - has been rocked by new rules designed to help the fight against obesity.
In a break with tradition, contestants will no longer have to eat as many meat and potato pies as possible in three minutes. Instead, they will compete to eat just one pie in the fastest time. And for those health-conscious professional pie-eaters, the competition will include a vegetarian option for the first time

Sprint Feet
In most respects, he’s your typical triathlete. But Scott Rigsby has higher motivations than just winning medals, reaching personal goals, and enjoying the triathlon lifestyle. He is looking to do what no one else ever has done, and in the process, pave the way for others to follow. The 38-year-old Georgia native has already knocked down one wall, becoming the first double leg amputee to complete an Olympic distance triathlon while running on prosthetics. Next on the list is a Half Ironman in October, and the ultimate, a full Ironman next June. (From Stuart Hughes)

Integrating the physically challenged into everyday life
Dick and Rick Hoyt are a father-and-son team from Massachusetts who together compete just about continuously in marathon and triathlon races. Together they have climbed mountains, and once trekked 3,735 miles across America.
It’s a remarkable record of exertion — all the more so when you consider that Rick can't walk or talk.
Dick has recently retired as a lieutenant colonel in the air nation guard. Rick was born in 1962 as a spastic quadriplegic, cerebral palsy, non-speaking person. Twenty years ago Rick Hoyt ran a 5k while pushing his son in a wheelchair. After the race his son told him that while racing he did not feel disabled. So for the past twenty five years or more Dick, who is 65, has pushed and pulled his son across the country and over hundreds of finish lines.
When Dick runs, Rick is in a wheelchair that Dick is pushing. When Dick cycles, Rick is in the seat-pod from his wheelchair, attached to the front of the bike. When Dick swims, Rick is in a small but heavy, firmly stabilized boat being pulled by Dick
