40 years ago today, I stopped eating meat. Time surely flies fast when you're having fun.
(I only remember the date because this was when I left my parents' home & moved to Jerusalem, to become a poor beatnik/poet). Anyway, Happy New Year and Happier New Decade, everyone.

Congratulations on that anniversary ... I wouldn't be surprised to hear that you have the good health to show what a positive change that was. Plus, of course, when you set out for Jersualem, I betyou never dreamed then where you'd be now. :-)
Happy 2010 to you and your family!

Thank you Mike & you're obviously right; When I started it was simply because I had no money (prided myself on spending the equivalent of $40 a month for food & other necessities). And I was into Buddhism and such. But since then as the years went by, this act manifested itself as one of the most important decisions I ever made; Even though I did not care much for any extra healthy lifestyle much of the time, this simple eating habit helped me maintain my body & mind thin & risk free.
As a matter of fact, I've never been ill & even at 56 (My Gosh, I'm getting OLD - or as G. Carlin says "Older") I never experience any sickness of any kind. Touch wood.
I highly recommend it.
