May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young

Expectation is a large ephemeral sand painting portraying the likeness of Barack Obama, located in the Catalan city of Barcelona. It was created before the 2008 US presidential election using a large-scale vector graphic, a GPS topography system and approximately 650 tons of sand.
The work’s grand scale (1 hectare / 2.5 acres) embodies the immense sense of hope felt by Barack Obama’s supporters and raises a mirror to reflect the source of that hope. Obama has awakened an enormous yearning for change that runs deep beneath decades of disaffection with the political establishment.
It was created by Cuban-American culture-jamming artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada

Also: The Shining - Sweded (YT). ‘Sweded’ is a plot point from the Gondry’s movie Be Kind Rewind: Films that were erased and recreated are referred as being sweded. These remakes are unedited with only a single take per scene. The tapes are described as having come from Sweden as an excuse for higher rental fees and longer wait times

Every Day
Since February 23rd, 1987, Karl Baden had, on a daily basis, made a photograph of his face. Reserved exclusively for this procedure are a single camera, tripod, strobe and white backdrop. A small, additional tripod and backdrop make the setup portable; it goes with him when he travels.
“I use the same type of high-resolution film (Kodak Technical Pan until it was discontinued in 2007, Ilford Pan F since then) and the same strobe lighting. The camera is always set and focused at the same distance. When taking the picture, I try to center myself in the frame, maintain a neutral expression and look straight into the lens…”

Happy 6th birthday
It’s been 6 years since I started grow-a-brain. It was one of the very first real estate blogs ever, and is probably the oldest one still alive. Of course, most of it has nothing to do with real estate.
Until recently, I posted here every day, usually with multiple posts & with many dozens of links. Blogging quickly became addictive to me, and I just couldn’t bring myself to stop, or even to slow down. But like other obsessions, you can only replace it when another substitution comes along. As expected, I’m doing other things now. So this blog may continue to slide down, until it fades away...
Six years of archive posts can be seen here
