The Last day
One of those damn, cold mornings
Possibly in the next impeachment cycle
You’ll get up before the market opens
In the big house at the end of the road
And after brewing your lonely cappuccino
You’ll fire up your shiny laptop
To see ‘what’s happening in the world today’
And Drudge or Huffington or whoever it may be
Will kick you in your stomach right then & there
Informing you that Robert Allen Zimmerman, the lucky Wilbury, is dead at 68
Maybe in a private plane crash
Or maybe in a drive-by shooting
Or locked up in a prison cell
Or in a memorial hospital in El-A’
Or of too much love, or too much touring or of any other cause
But you’ll know that the other half of your life is now over as well
And there’s no one left to remember
And no one left to look up to
And the next one going away is you

Hanan, you are my hero! You kinda already were, just for having such an awesome site, but now my friend, it's official! I give you a standing ovation, a round of applause, and if you were in the Richmond VA library right now, I'd take you out for a drink! Boy, it's gonna be a sad say when that man goes :( Cheers to you!

Wow! I assumed that Dylan wrote it, but wondered why you didn't post the author. Good job!

Hanan, you scared the hell out of me, so I googled up Bob Dylan news and found he really hadn't DIED. WHEW! I did find this interesting story of one writer's idea of culture sharing - Bob Dylan in Baghdad - click past the advert screen - http://www.forbes.com/opinions/2008/09/15/baghdad-culture-iraq-oped-cx_mk_0915kaylan.html

Stop it.
You know it is possible to plant the seeds of reality disrupting the time continuum ahead of schedule.

Those words really made me think, not just about Bob Dylan, but about how even the great and the good must die some day, some way. I hope it does not happen for a long time, but he is one of those whose words will live long after he departs this life.

I ponder that dreadful day some times. Don't know why, but it will be revelatory in some way.
