The glass harmonica’s ghostly notes will cause insanity in its musicians and listeners! At least this is what was thought to be true in the 18th century. People were frightened by the harmonica’s sound due to it’s strange interactions with the human brain and ears. I remember reading somewhere that the Glass Harmonica or Glass Organ caused nerve damage. Even though only the player's fingertips touched the vibrating instrument the harm it caused was said to be wider spread. The nervous system is a delicate thing ... I guess it could be true. I wish I could remember the source or more details, but it was a long time ago.
