Were toads an omen of China’s earthquake?
My friend read on the Chinese internet wire: Days before China’s massive earthquake, hundreds of thousands of toads swarmed through a town near the epicentre, leading to a storm of speculation on whether there was a connection
Also this strange weather phenomena phenomenon was seen in the sky before the quake

Toads? Wow, I hadn't considered them as an indicator. They say animals know when a quake is coming. Maybe Myth Busters should check this one out.

I can't get the video to play so I don't know what was seen in the sky before the quake, but I do know that it was a phenomenon (which is singular) and not "a phenomena" (which is plural).
A very common usage error, I'm afraid.
