Don Knuth is has been called the "father" of the analysis of algorithms, contributing to the development of, and systematizing formal mathematical techniques for, the rigorous analysis of the computational complexity of algorithms, and in the process popularizing asymptotic notation. I cannot agree more but the thing that gets me the most is cell phones. I don't have time or the inclination to talk to the people I need to talk to let alone a bunch of folks that just want to chit chat every time they have a down minute.
