I love France, in fact I leave for Paris next week. I look forward to the food, the museums, the shopping but I do not look forward to French pop music. It really sucks. I can't understand it, they do everything else with such panache. Well maybe not everything, they do have that strange crush on Jerry Lewis.

Have you ever heard poet Rod Mckuen's translation/rendition of Ne me quitte pas? It's really quite wonderful in spite of a voice like sandpaper.

the scott walker version is the definitive english version of mckuen's translation. a voice like anything BUT sandpaper.
