The lego bucket wheel excavator is amazing! When I was little, my dad, a geologist, went up north, to the Athabasca Tar Sands, and returned with tales and pictures of the bucket wheel excavators. To a six year old boy, that was about as cool as if he had seen seen living dinosaurs.
They've pretty much stopped using them, but they have one as a museum piece- one of these days, I'll get up there...
